Qiao received her PhD training in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and her research mainly focused on predictive biomarkers and prognosis of diabetes complications. She is experienced in epidemiological analyses and has particular interests in diabetic kidney disease using large-scale datasets.

Qiao joined the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at HKU in November 2022, and is pursuing her interests in risk management in chronic diseases.
