Dr Elissa CUCAN

Elissa Cucan is a family physician who has had experience with comprehensive practice (i.e., full scope of practice, including well baby visits, preventive visits such as annual physical exams, mental health visits, chronic disease management, etc.). She completed her MD and Family Medicine specialty training at the University of Toronto, Canada. She has more than 12 years of clinical experience since completion of her Certification in the College of Family Physicians. In these 12+ years, she had a broad range of experiences, including working as an Emergency Room physician and a Hospitalist in the rural community of Collingwood. She also provided specialized dermatology clinics, receiving referrals from other family physicians. This practice includes small procedures such as skin biopsies as well as cosmetic removals. In these clinics, she supervised and provided bedside teaching to family medicine residents at the University of Ottawa, Riverside campus.
She believes that she has an ability to connect with her patients, and has continued to build her knowledge and skills as a family physician over her career. She has continued to seek out opportunities to mentor and teach students in medicine and is inspired to move forward in this area at the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, University of Hong Kong. She is also excited to practice Family Medicine at Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital.
